The Process:
In this specific piece, many elements contributed to the visual narrative. In the final piece, a moment in time is recreated using the children's own handiwork. The children created art on old grocery bags and boxes, and through the unique process of collage, it became part of the portrait. The children's drawings also inspired the use of wax crayon in the painting. The image represented is one of their father's favorite photographs; brother and sister fast asleep in the bicycle carrier.
